Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage, direct, and coordinate all related-area activities to maximize productivity and minimize cost while achieving safety, quality, and throughput targets.
- Responsible for the safe manufacture of products while adhering to all company safety policies and government compliance requirements.
- Ensure that 6-S standards and good housekeeping practices are consistently followed.
- Responsible for adherence to process control procedures, operating instructions, and all quality control instructions.
- Review and plan for daily/weekly/quarterly labor, equipment, and supply requirements to achieve the department throughput while meeting and exceeding productivity targets.
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of effective systems for improving internal and external quality, cost improvements, and on-time delivery-to-customer requirements.
- Cookordination production with required schedules to meet customer requirements.
- Control flow of product, materials, and utilization of labor throughout department(s).
Secondary Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform work in a safe manner by following all safety rules and providing recommendations to help make PCC a safe work environment.
- Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.
- Perform all physical functions of position, which may include standing, walking, twisting, turning, talking, and/or hearing.
- The position may require sitting, kneeling, stooping, bending, and using hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- The Supervisor must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Education, Experience And Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations or related field or 5 – 7 years of progressive manufacturing/ supervisory experience.
- Knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, execute and deliver results in conformance with targets.
- Knowledge of budgeting process and financial management tools.
- Able to read and interpret production charts and figures.
- Experience using data for production planning and labor management.
- Advanced knowledge of and comfort with Excel and other computer programs or ERP systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and ability to easily adapt to changing situations and priorities.
- Requires that the incumbent be highly organized, self-motivated, and one who can work independently, as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
