2nd Shift Production Supervisor

About the role

The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor will work with the Manufacturing Manager on day-to-day manufacturing activities for all shifts, fostering a safe, positive, and results-oriented work environment focused on quality, safety, and on-time delivery. This role oversees all employees on the production floor, including team leads and operators.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery commitments.
• Supply plant metrics data to the Manufacturing Manager.
• Manage the 5 Phase training process for all new hires.
• Support the operation of production machinery, including troubleshooting when needed.
• Work closely with production Team Leads to ensure training and development of operators.
• Audit operators and production lines to ensure Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) are followed.
• Monitor PDE transactions for accuracy.
• Assist in tracking and ordering supplies for the manufacturing floor.
• Support the Manufacturing Manager in driving improvements and initiatives.
• Assist with delivery on the production plan by monitoring planned versus actual performance.
• Coordinate with other departments on scheduling, forecasting, and purchasing of materials.
• Assist with the management of work orders.
• Operate machinery as needed.
• Promote and maintain a clean and safe work environment in collaboration with other departments.
• Work with Human Resources and the Manufacturing Manager on employee accountability.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree is a plus.
• 7+ years of production operator experience.
• 3+ years of production lead experience.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Standard manufacturing floor environment.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to bend, squat, climb, crawl, and kneel frequently.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 40 lbs independently.

Schedule

Full-time, exempt position. Must be able to work extended hours as needed.
