About the role
Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. The Production Superintendent provides leadership and oversight for multiple production lines or departments, ensuring operational efficiency, quality, and safety. This role supports strategic planning, resource allocation, and cross-functional coordination.
Responsibilities
- Oversee production supervisors and ensure alignment with plant goals.
- Monitor KPIs and drive performance improvements across shifts.
- Lead initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Responsible for achieving daily productivity, efficiency, cost, quality, safety, and EOE objectives through both individual and team contributions.
- Provides direction, leadership, development, and support to shift supervisors through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manages off-shift operations team; oversees support function personnel in materials, quality, and maintenance.
- Reduces lost and idle time, non-conformities, and non-value-added processes.
- Ensures operator emphasis on customer expectations and effective product line communication.
- Drives continuous manufacturing process improvement resulting in reduced re-work and product scrap.
- Manages on-hand and work-in-process inventories.
- Coordinates continuous improvement activities resulting in high-quality and competitively priced products.
- Develops subordinates and ensures consistency in personnel policy administration.
- Manages and runs departments by the numbers to ensure profitability.
- Ensures effective utilization of assets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of applicable experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
