About the role
Manage the efforts of supervisors and hourly personnel covering various departments over three shifts. Responsible for administering and controlling productive labor, variable overhead, and OVC budgets. Ensure efficient use, operation, and preservation of production facilities in the Peoria plant.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and environmentally friendly workplace for employees and visitors (ISO 14001).
- Ensure quality of output delivered to other production areas, service parts, and/or customers.
- Manage efforts to achieve established production goals; monitor progress and adjust efforts accordingly.
- Develop and implement programs to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Initiate increases or decreases in manpower.
- Interview and select qualified hourly employees and oversee their training.
- Work with the plant manager on problems or potential problems beyond your control that affect the ability to produce quality product in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with other departments whose work affects your operation while providing timely notice of requirements.
- Administer the union/management agreement on the shop floor to maintain a sound working relationship with bargaining unit employees.
- Stay abreast of technological developments through professional organizations, trade shows, seminars, and other activities as needed.
- Support ISO 9002 quality and ISO 14001 environmental efforts in areas of responsibility.

Requirements
- Four-year degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to achieve efficiency, utilization, and productivity goals for departments of responsibility.
- Experience maintaining a safe work environment in all departments of responsibility.
- Effective communication with bargaining unit employees.
- Ability to minimize scrap and re-operation in managed departments.
- Strong communication skills with other members of management.
Pay
This role pays $105,600 – $132,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
