Key Functions & Responsibilities

  • Set up machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedules
  • Maintain efficient production levels in a fast-paced environment
  • Identify alpha / numeric product codes
  • Apply mechanical inspection techniques and practices
  • Respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and/or Packer/Handler problems
  • Use proper Lockout/tagout procedures
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctions
  • Inspect scrap to prevent any usable product from being ground and record scrap numbers
  • Absorb responsibilities for the packer/handler job to assist with relief breaks
  • Keep the floor stocked with materials required for production

Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Cover for the supervisor in his absence
  • Train employees
  • Plan, assign, and direct work
  • Address complaints by taking them to supervisor to resolve problems

Required Experience, Skills & Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of injection molding machinery and processes to include mold set-ups, trouble shooting and exposure to maintenance problems
  • Read and comprehend complex, detailed instructions and correspondence
  • Write simple correspondence
  • Apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions
  • Identify alpha / numeric product codes
  • Deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Preferred Experience, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques and practices
