About the role
The Mold Technician is responsible for changing molds on foam molding machines to ensure efficient production and high-quality products.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Change molds on foam molding machines in a timely and efficient manner
- Inspect molds for damage or wear and report any issues to management
- Clean and maintain molds to ensure proper functioning
- Troubleshoot and resolve mold-related issues to minimize downtime
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 3–6 months of relative manufacturing experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in mold changing or strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Knowledge or experience in ERP/MRP systems
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred
Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with ERP systems

Physical Demands
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, ability to visually identify and troubleshoot machine processes, read gauges, paperwork, and other visuals
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, talk, and hear
- Frequently required to reach, stoop, bend, squat, stretch, and twist
- Must be able to work in, with, and near machinery and use hand tools
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, safety glasses, steel/composite toe shoes, and gloves
- Must apply critical thinking to perform problem-solving for complex tasks, including recognizing hazards and mitigating risk
- Must have the ability to provide clear directions for tasks
- Must be able to operate machines and support equipment
- Must be able to work at heights and use a ladder
Work Environment
- Typical manufacturing environment with proximity to other production associates, materials, and machinery
- Moderate to high noise level with ear protection required
- Moderate exposure to heat, cold, and noise; dependent on external weather temperatures
- Work areas may occasionally have wet or damp conditions
