About the role
Wausau Supply Company is a 100% employee-owned company that distributes building materials from leading manufacturers to authorized retailers across the United States. We are seeking a Waudena Material Handler - Loader to join our team, responsible for quality control, sorting, loading, and maintaining the flow of finished entrance systems into our distribution network.
Responsibilities
- Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principles of safety for self and others into daily activities
- Develops and maintains a clean, safe working environment and ensures participation in safety programs and required trainings
- Safeguards Company property while maintaining acceptable level of productivity
- Accurately sort and organize daily loading and shipping paperwork to aide in picking and loading efficiency
- Work as a team to load trucks for the next day’s delivery via specific routes and loading methods
- Sorts and moves product onto racking, van trailers, and curtainside trailers as directed by loading paperwork while operating and using a variety of material handling equipment
- Use inventory and warehouse management software to facilitate electronic movement of inventory within the system
- Manually sort, consolidate, and organize finished entrance systems within zone specific transport racking daily
- Identify loading discrepancies and take necessary actions to rectify discrepancies
- Manage inventory as required
- Performs all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and encourages team effort
- Performs other duties as assigned that would lead to successful operation of department, team and/or company mission
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Forklift experience is recommended but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively, define problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions with all levels of the organization and team
- Ability to read paperwork, interpret instruction and exercise good judgment
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- Being observant, able to identify issues, stop and correct the issue
Working Demands / Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
- Ability to stand/bend/walk for long periods of time
- Work 10 hour shifts minimum, but up to 14 hours if required during peak seasons to ensure all entrance systems are loaded to ship for the next day
- Base schedule of 3pm to 1:30am, Monday through Thursday. Friday overtime as required
