Overall Responsibilities
The Operations Manager will manage all aspects of trade operations within the South Yard Assembly Building at the Groton facility on off shifts. Specific responsibilities include:
- Manage the performance of 2nd shift’s safety, quality, cost, schedule, continuous improvement and employee communications.
- Possess effective problem-solving skills and critical thinking capability.
- Promote a positive team environment and be highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills.
- Be fully cognizant of OSHA requirements relating to specific trades and enforce standards and shipyard safety practices.
- Interpret and implement all job requirements utilizing EB systems and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
This position involves coordinating with external customers and internal partners/stakeholders, achieving quality objectives, adjusting manpower and overtime, communicating objectives to 1st shift counterparts, driving productivity, ensuring adherence to cleanliness, driving innovation, identifying production needs, enforcing safety and environmental programs, planning risk identification, participating in audits, overseeing severe weather/isolation processes, managing individual performance, and collaborating with HR for pay adjustments and disciplinary actions.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 8+ years of trades or shipbuilding experience
- 4+ years of Trades Supervisory/Management experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain secret security clearance through the Department of Defense
- Able to work any shift as business needs dictate
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree
- Proficiency with blueprints, MRP, EWP, SPARS, ATIS, Artemis, and EVM
- Familiarity with building management and/or major moves
- Computer skills including MS Office and Project
- Experience working with the Electric Boat MDD-00664 process
- Relevant military leadership experience
