2nd Shift General Helper

About the Role

Specialty Products, a division of Gorton’s, is seeking a 2nd Shift General Helper (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM) at the processing plant in Brook Park, Ohio. Join America’s leader in Frozen Seafood and be part of a team committed to spreading the goodness of the sea through innovation and quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift while following all safety regulations.
• Adhere to factory Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
• Perform general cleaning and housekeeping of production areas to maintain safety, legality, and product quality, including:
  • Sweeping and vacuuming production areas to remove product buildup from floors, equipment, and surrounding areas.
  • Removing trash, waste, and recyclables before shift end and as needed throughout the shift.
  • Completing specific cleaning tasks as requested by supervisors or management.
• Stage materials as needed throughout the shift, including preparing materials for the next shift.
• Relieve other positions during breaks, lunches, or as needed per supervisor request.
• Maintain a clean, organized washroom free from buildup, including:
  • Ensuring the chemical cabinet is locked and secured.
  • Cleaning floors and keeping sinks free from tools and debris.
  • Hanging all tools properly.

Requirements

• Ability to manually lift 50-70lb bags, boxes, or tubs and move pallets as needed.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior work experience in a processing facility or fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude.
• Willingness to work overtime.
