2nd Shift Diesel Mechanic

Pay

Starting pay: $28‑$55 per hour, with additional increases based on experience, certifications, and skill level. ASE testing is reimbursed; earning a T‑Series ASE adds $0.50 per hour, and a State Inspector’s License adds $1.00 per hour. A $2 shift differential applies.

Schedule

Standard shift: 3 pm – 1 am, Monday‑Friday. Saturday day shifts are available as needed. Overtime is paid after 40 hours worked.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on diesel refuse trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep refuse trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.
