2nd Shift Custodian

About the role

This is a 12-month hourly employee position, working Monday to Friday from 3:30 pm to 12:00 am. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning areas assigned by the Night Foreman, replacing fluorescent and incandescent lamps, maintaining security in housekeeping areas, and setting up buildings for rentals, school activities, and continuing education. Additional duties include assisting with snow removal operations and maintaining Fixed Asset records.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning areas assigned by the Night Foreman
• Replacing fluorescent and incandescent lamps in assigned areas
• Maintaining security in housekeeping areas
• Building set-ups for rentals, school activities, and continuing education
• Assisting with snow removal operations
• Maintaining Fixed Asset records
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Night Foreman and/or Building and Grounds Manager & the Director of Purchasing & Facilities

Qualifications

• Familiarity with equipment used in maintenance of tile floors and carpet
• Possession of safety habits, skills, and insight while performing custodial work
• Knowledge of all areas of housekeeping
• Ability to understand instructions and physically perform assigned tasks

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be under the supervision of the Foreman, Building and Grounds Manager, and Director of Purchasing and Facilities.

Benefits

Salary and benefits will be established by the agreement between the Board of Education and the District 211 Operations Maintenance Group.
