Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a 2nd Shift CNC Setup Trainee to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team.

Pay

  • Starting hourly wage of $24.57/hr. + 3.5% shift differential
  • Eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus: $1,000 after successful completion of the orientation period and $1,000 after one year of employment

Schedule

  • Regularly scheduled hours: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday
  • Overtime may be required, including adjustments to shift start/end times and Saturday work

Responsibilities

  • Perform machine set up tasks including removal and installation of tools, tool setting, tool offsets, and program movements
  • Read, follow, and comprehend work instructions and blueprints
  • Use recommended hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Load and unload parts, change inserts/tooling, adjust wear offsets, measure parts, and run jobs within quality and efficiency expectations
  • Maintain coolant levels, lubrication oil, grease fixtures, and clean work area
  • Perform production documentation, tool testing, and document results
  • Learn machine set up tasks such as removal and installation of tools and fixtures, tool setting, tool offsets, program transfers, work offsets, first article creation, work holding, machine set up with assistance, tooling selection, minor program edits, and indicating in jaws, fixtures, and tooling
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and learn to calculate speed (RPM/SFM), feed (IPM/IPR), chip load, and taper
  • Ensure quality by demonstrating accuracy, measuring parts correctly, and visually inspecting parts to meet specifications
  • Meet productivity standards and strive to increase productivity
  • Properly use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, machinist scales, functional gages, and height stands
  • Read and interpret blueprint dimensioning, tolerances, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Use standard PC and MS software, ERP systems, and databases
  • Follow safety policies and procedures, wear PPE, report unsafe conditions, and use equipment properly
  • Follow security policies and procedures

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum six months related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read and interpret safety policies, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and communicate effectively
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal effectively with routine problems and stressful situations
  • Strong attendance record: punctual and present for scheduled hours
  • Soft skills including following instructions, responding to management, taking responsibility, maintaining consistent performance, proposing improvements, adapting to change, identifying root causes, ensuring complete documentation, developing cooperative relationships, detecting and reporting defective equipment, accepting criticism, and communicating professionally

  • Constantly stand and walk throughout the workday
  • Frequently use hands and arms to reach, grasp, manipulate, handle, or feel material
  • Constant use of hands and fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel, handle parts and tools
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Occasional bending
  • Frequent lifting up to 40 lbs. unassisted
  • Occasional lifting up to 70 lbs. unassisted

Work Environment

  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • Constant exposure to louder noise levels
