About the role
Milwaukee Valve Company, LLC. is seeking a CNC Programmer to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 301. This is an exempt position.
Responsibilities
- Create CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, or manually edit code on a controller.
- Perform program compare and maintain documents.
- Conduct tool tests and recommend tools and fixtures.
- Perform machine setup and program prove out, including measuring and inspecting machined parts.
- Instruct in proper machine setup procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or Technical school.
- Minimum 1 year related experience.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow work instructions.
- Precise use of instruments such as micrometer, caliper, height stand, and indicators.
- Excellent understanding and working knowledge of GD&T with the ability to instruct.
- Read, comprehend, and follow blueprints and drawings.
- Perform calculations related to speed, feed, chip load, angles, ratios, arcs, and circles.
- Use CAD/CAM software to generate programs.
- Write code by means of general editors and write code at machine controller.
- Prepare and maintain documentation.
- Modify existing programs to improve efficiency, tool life, and product quality.
- Perform machine operations such as loading/unloading parts, changing inserts, washing down machines, and cleaning work areas.
- Set up machines and transfer programs between machine controls.
- Measure parts accurately to .0001 and apply GD&T principles.
- Apply productivity standards and meet quality requirements.
