2nd shift CNC Mill Setup Machinist

About the Role

Our client, a growing precise CNC manufacturer for industries including Aerospace and Medical Device, is seeking a dedicated and skilled CNC Mill Setup Machinist for their 2nd shift. This permanent position offers the opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative engineering team, with every Friday as a half day.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision parts.
• Interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations.
• Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials on machines.
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors (speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut).
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Assist with programming machines using Mastercam and G Code.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Use CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) for part inspection.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in CNC machining preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist, specifically with setup and operation of CNC milling machines.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
• Experience with tool and die setup and operation.
• Experience with CMM machines for part inspection.
• Knowledge of tooling and lathe operations.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be able to work 2nd shift (2:00 pm - 11:30 pm) and overtime as required.

Pay

$23 - $33 per hour + $4 per hour shift differential.

Schedule

2nd shift: 2:00 pm - 11:30 pm (9-hour days with every Friday a half day).
