CNC Setup Machinist- 2nd Shift
Eaton’s Aerospace Division is seeking a CNC Setup Machinist on 2nd shift at our Charleston, SC facility. Relocation is offered for this role.
Schedule
Core hours: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday – Friday.
Pay
Hourly rate: $26.50 – $29.00 plus a $2.50 shift differential. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is currently offered, paid in two installments: $1,000 in the first paycheck and the remaining $2,000 after six months of employment, less applicable withholding. Bonuses are subject to additional terms and conditions.
Responsibilities
- Lead transition and changeover between production runs on CNC mills and lathes.
- Operate select machines through the remainder of the production run while ensuring quality parts.
- Properly set tools in machine locations required for setup and perform part changeover, including program retrieval and input.
- Establish work offsets (G54, G55, etc.) manually and utilizing probing technology.
- Read, understand, and reset CNC machine program codes.
- Calculate and input axis coordinates for CNC machines up to 3 axes or use a spindle probe to determine work offsets.
- Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) results to make adjustments to work offsets.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills in a manufacturing or operations environment; OR an Associate's degree or higher in machining or manufacturing-related discipline.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience setting up CNC lathes and/or mills.
- Must be a U.S. person (citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) to comply with U.S. Government export regulations.
- Must reside within 50 miles of Charleston, SC, or be willing to relocate within this region.
- Must currently live within the United States.
Qualifications
- Ability to understand and interpret blueprints and sketches, including proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to perform basic shop math.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical degree in manufacturing, machining, or related field.
- Experience operating a variety of manual machines (lathes, mills, jig bore, grinders, etc.).
