About the role
We manufacture complex small, machined components for the Aerospace and Power Systems industries. The qualified candidate will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager and will set up and operate complex Mill jobs without supervision, ensuring parts conform to specifications and requirements. The operator may be required to run more than one machine at any given time.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate complex Mill jobs without supervision, ensuring parts conform to specifications and requirements.
- Make necessary modifications or adjustments to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Perform in a fast-paced environment, meeting or exceeding production standards with a focus on Quality and Productivity.
- Read and understand standard and geometric tolerances on blueprints and work instructions/operations sheets.
- Accurately verify and document dimensions using standard measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, depth gages, height gages, dial calipers, and Optical comparators).
- Hold tight tolerances associated with machining precision Aerospace and Power Generation parts.
- Troubleshoot and offer suggestions to resolve machining problems/issues; collaborate with engineering on necessary changes.
- Maintain 5S practices on machines and in the work area.
- Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations; wear necessary personal protective equipment as required.
- Adjust machines as needed to ensure specified dimensions of pieces.
- Observe machine operation to detect potential malfunctions and stop the machine to make required adjustments.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machinery, such as oiling and coolant checks.
- Enter data in the ERP system.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required, including cross-training on other tasks.
Requirements
- Ability to use a computer; experience with an ERP system is a plus.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
- Familiarity with measurement tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
- Three or more years of experience with CNC Mill machines.
- Detail-oriented with a strong desire to learn and take direction.
- Ability to adapt to changes and a strong desire to succeed.
- Must understand, read, and write English.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for a minimum of eight (8) hours per day.
- Lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Bending, pulling, pushing, sitting, and reaching.
Pay
Second Shift Differential Paid.
