About the role

As a CPI Assembler/Packer, you will perform a wide variety of repetitive assembly of the company’s products into complete packages and/or sub-assemblies per engineering drawings and customer specifications. You will also perform final inspection of product prior to shipment to the customer. The role may include additional packaging tasks such as generating and placing labels on packages, operating small production equipment, component installation, and fitting assembly units.

The Assembler/Packer II can rotate throughout different functional stations of the assembly processes, including TeraFrame, Mixed Model line, Cabling Section, and Accessories. You will be responsible for meeting safety, quality, and productivity expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Select, inspect, assemble, and/or package product for final shipment under minimal supervision.
  • Apply labels and palletize per specifications.
  • Inspect and maintain workplace for compliance with safety requirements; correct any safety issues prior to performing operations.
  • Requisition packaging material from the warehouse when necessary.
  • Inspect material for shipping damage and/or supplier defects.
  • Inspect product per finished goods inspection procedure.
  • Inform Team Leader of any component that needs rework or scrapping.
  • Certify that each product has completed Quality Assurance processes via Quality stamp.
  • Work from blueprints, engineering specifications, and production schedules.
  • Maintain a clean work area and dispose of trash and production scrap.
  • Assist in cleaning common areas.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing/Industrial or related environment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering specifications to properly select parts.
  • Capable of using measuring devices to perform product inspection.
  • Available and willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as production demand dictates.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping, and crouching.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
