The ITW StampTech Fasteners™ Division serves major OEMs and Tier suppliers in the North American automotive market, supplying stamped metal fasteners and engineered fastener assemblies. Locations include Gallatin, TN; Lexington, KY; and Naugatuck, CT.

Responsibilities

  • Study specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions to visualize products and determine materials and machines required for fabrication or repair.
  • Calculate dimensions, plan layouts, and determine assembly methods and sequences of operations.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe metal stock for machining.
  • Operate machine tools (e.g., lathes, milling machines, grinders) to machine parts and verify conformance to specifications.
  • Smooth flat and contour surfaces using equipment to fit and assemble parts into mechanisms.
  • Connect sensors in dies to ensure quality.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
  • Examine standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures; recommend design modifications for construction and function.
  • Develop specifications and general descriptions for specialty tooling; draw or sketch designs.
  • Operate overhead cranes.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment (5S responsibilities).
  • Cross-train with department co-workers to increase knowledge, flexibility, and efficiency.
  • Maintain equipment, including daily inspections.
  • Follow all company rules, regulations, and work processes.
  • Hold self-accountable for creating and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Perform tasks with a focus on safety in a fast-paced environment.
  • Contribute to team efforts through continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management for training, assistance, or other reasons.

Requirements

  • 5 years of Tool & Die experience.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Ability to comply with all company procedures, policies, and work instructions.
  • Experience operating a forklift.
  • Ability to weld (MIG/TIG).
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Effective communication in a professional manner with all levels of employees and the public.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
