About the role
Serves as a 2nd Assistant Engineer on a Class I diesel/electric powered pipeline dredge (18" discharge and over). The incumbent will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all engine room.
Responsibilities
- Operates, maintains, and repairs all engine room equipment.
- Maintains logs and records of engine room operations and maintenance activities.
- Assists the Chief Engineer in the supervision of engine room personnel.
- Performs routine inspections and tests of engine room systems to ensure proper operation.
- Prepares and submits reports on engine room activities and maintenance needs.
- Participates in emergency situations as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Must possess a valid U.S. Coast Guard Third Assistant Engineer (TAE) certificate.
- Must have at least 3 years of relevant experience in marine engineering or a related field.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
