About the role
The successful candidate will provide facilities engineering expertise for Hilcorp's L48 Asset Teams, supporting ongoing operations and managing projects to optimize production, improve reliability, reduce costs, and prevent future problems.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop recommendations for initiatives and projects to optimize production, improve reliability, reduce costs, and prevent future problems.
- Employ engineering expertise to troubleshoot complex operational problems and develop solutions.
- Perform process, compressor performance, and gathering system hydraulic modeling in support of assigned projects and facility optimization.
- Afford engineering support for environmental compliance such as closed vent system designs.
- Engage and manage outside facilities engineering support (consultants and/or Engineering firms) on an as-needed basis, as agreed with the Asset Team Manager.
- Support new drill programs with facility designs and construction.
- Ensure alignment with Hilcorp policies and practices and applicable codes, recommended practices, and all government regulations.
- Supervise and approve facility modifications, installation, decommissioning, and other related work as well as monitoring costs.
- Provide engineering support for company standards and design guidelines in accordance with good engineering practice and applicable codes and standards.

Qualifications
- Minimum seven (7) years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry including operations support, front-end engineering, design, estimating, scheduling, and field project execution.
- Ten (10) plus years preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with field operations and construction foremen.
- Experience in cost estimating, budgeting, scheduling, planning, and project execution.
- Experience with compression, pipelines, treating (CO2/H2S), dehydration, wellsite facilities, gathering systems, gas processing, tank batteries, salt water disposal, closed-vent systems, and measurement.
- Experience in reading and in creating block flow diagrams, P&IDs, isometrics, data sheets, and specifications.
- Experience with CO2 compression, transportation, and dehydration a plus.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and industry regulations for oil and gas facilities.
- Thorough understanding of equipment design, fabrication and installation practices.
- Demonstrate strong, dynamic team leadership skills.
- Ability to solve problems accurately and exceptional proficiency in interpreting production related data.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with special ability to translate complex technical information into an organized and presentable manner.
- Self-starter with proven leadership skills, team player, comfortable working under pressure, and dedicated to developing workforce.
- Proficient in computers and applications including MS Office, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc. with preferred proficiency with more advanced applications such as Power BI and Spotfire.
- Proficiency in specialized engineering software applications such as ProMax, Hysys, Stoner, Piper, and a range of compressor performance/sizing software.
- Outstanding management, administrative and organizational skills.
Education Requirements
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in mechanical, civil, electrical, or petroleum engineering.
- Preferred: Professional Engineer Certification.
