About the role
This position supervises childcare services for children in a preschool classroom environment. The role involves creating a developmentally appropriate program, developing individual education plans, and maintaining confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Supports and develops plans related to goals set for individual children.
- Maintains ongoing communication with parents/guardians.
- Identifies student needs, makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans.
- Maintains all aspects and provisions of confidentiality related to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Attends required preschool workshops, trainings and meetings as required by the Arizona Department of Health Services and the District.
- Sets student goals and monitors and evaluates student progress using district recommended techniques.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must provide documentation of the following requirements:
- A teacher-caregiver is 18 years of age or older and provides the licensee with documentation of one of the following:
- Six months of child care experience AND a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma;
- At least 12 credit hours from an accredited college or university, including at least six credit hours in early childhood, child development, or a closely-related field;
- An associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, or a closely-related field;
- N.A.C., C.D.A., or C.C.P. credential.
Qualifications
- Obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification.
- Possess a negative Mantoux TB Skin Test administered within 12 months of hire date or a health care provider's written and dated statement stating incumbent is free from infectious active TB issued within 6 months of hire date.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler's card.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
