255774 (LF) Specialist Rotational Physiotherapist

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our developing Band 6 rotation. The rotation spans the Royal Victoria Building (RVB), Western General Hospital (WGH), and Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE), encompassing inpatient acute wards, rehabilitation, and community rehabilitation. The role involves managing a varied and complex caseload with excellent clinical reasoning, prioritization, and discharge planning for a wide range of presentations.

You will participate in respiratory weekend work, including on-call duties during some rotations, and the extended-hours day surgery rota during your Orthopaedic rotation. The Physiotherapy service operates on a 5/7 basis.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate advanced ability to prioritise and discharge plan for a wide range of patient presentations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across organisational and professional topics as required by the service.
• Participate in respiratory weekend work, including on-call duties during some rotations.
• Participate in the extended-hours day surgery rota during the Orthopaedic rotation.
• Engage in service development and Quality Improvement methodology to support proactive team projects.
• Exhibit excellence in leadership and teamwork to manage the range of conditions and specialities encountered.

Requirements

• Broad experience within Band 5 rotations covering all core specialties, ensuring advanced rehabilitation skills and experience treating acutely unwell patients.
• Some experience of community rehabilitation (beneficial but not mandatory).
• Experience in service development and Quality Improvement methodology.
• Evidence of excellent clinical reasoning with a varied and complex caseload.
• PVG Scheme membership/record (application will be required if not already a member for the relevant regulatory group).
• Legal permission to work in the UK, granted by the UK Visa and Immigration Service.
