254701 (CHA) Specialist Physiotherapist

About the role

The NHS Lothian University Hospital Division is seeking a Respiratory Medicine Specialist Physiotherapist to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acute in-patient areas, particularly Respiratory Medicine, with experience in prioritizing patient care and managing a diverse caseload.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to patients in Respiratory Medicine in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Develop and enhance inpatient and outpatient services within the Respiratory Medicine specialty.
• Gain extensive and in-depth experience as a Band 6 Physiotherapist.
• Develop quality improvement, audit, and evaluation skills.
• Support staff development through appraisal processes, supervision, and CPD opportunities.
• Be prepared for a regular weekend and overnight on-call commitment.

Requirements

• Proven clinical experience in a variety of acute in-patient areas, especially Respiratory Medicine.
• Experience in supervising, mentoring, and appraising other staff members or students.
• Experience in long-term condition management and respiratory outpatient settings is desirable.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold a degree in Physiotherapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Skills

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage a busy clinical caseload.
• Well-developed ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Experience in quality improvement, audit, and evaluation.
