About the role
The Lothian Acute Physiotherapy Service is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Rotational Specialist Physiotherapist to join their team. The role involves working across various inpatient and outpatient settings including acute medical wards, Medicine of the Elderly rehabilitation, front door frailty services, and the Cancer Assessment Unit.
Responsibilities
- Show excellent clinical reasoning across a wide range of conditions
- Develop advanced prioritization and discharge planning skills
- Gain broad Band 5 rotational experience across core specialties
- Manage acutely unwell patients, including those with acute respiratory caseloads
- Participate in respiratory on-call rosters
- Have experience in community rehabilitation and discharge pathways (advantageous)
- Contribute to a proactive and forward-thinking team
- Involvement in service development and Quality Improvement initiatives at both uni-professional and multidisciplinary levels
- Support student education and the development of Band 5 staff
- Collaborate effectively across teams and engage in wider service priorities
- Participate in weekend respiratory services and on-call working
- Develop as a senior clinician while enhancing leadership capabilities
Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- Excellent clinical reasoning across a wide range of conditions

- Broad Band 5 rotational experience across core specialties
- Experience managing acutely unwell patients, including acute respiratory caseloads
- Participation in respiratory on-call rotas
- Experience in community rehabilitation and discharge pathways (advantageous)
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Physiotherapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Pay
