About the role

The SE Community Mental Health Team/Edinburgh is seeking a Clinical Psychologist Band 8a for a fixed term post covering maternity cover for 5 months. This role is suitable for those with experience in working with individuals with severe and complex mental health issues. The psychologist will be part of a supportive Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and will be based at Ballenden House in Edinburgh.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a highly specialized Psychology service involving assessment, formulation, and application of psychological models and associated therapies.
  • Offer individual and group therapy services.
  • Support the MDT through shared assessments, psychological formulations, reflective practice, and consultancy.
  • Teach and train within the CMHT.

Requirements

The preferred candidate should have recently completed their clinical training. The Lothian Psychology service supports trainees from various universities, including Edinburgh University. Professional development is also a priority within the service.

Qualifications

The post is available on a part-time basis (0.6 WTE) for 5 months, though other patterns such as 0.3 WTE for 10 months are also considered. Salary will be pro-rated due to the part-time nature of the role.
