About the role
The NHS Lothian Primary Care Pharmacy and Medicines Service is undergoing an ambitious programme of transformation and integration. Pharmaceutical care is provided by a team of around 100 pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and administrators, working across General Practices covering the whole of Edinburgh.
Responsibilities
You will receive support from a designated tutor, and the wider pharmacy team, as well as peer support from other foundation pharmacists. Successful applicants will be supported to complete the RPS Post Registration Foundation Training programme which equips pharmacists with a broad range of core skills via completion of learning outcomes, to become competent clinical practitioners. This course is inclusive of the independent prescribing qualification where required.
You will work within GP practices to provide holistic, patient-centred individualized care to improve the safety and effectiveness of individual’s medicines. You will also have the opportunity to become involved in joint projects/initiatives within the HSCP as required in accordance with identified local and national priorities.
Requirements
- Evidence of excellent communication, IT and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Masters in Pharmacy and current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- No primary care experience is essential as training will be fully supported
Qualifications
- Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Masters in Pharmacy
- PVG Scheme membership/record
