About the role

Temporary, full-time (1.00 FTE) Resource & Other Teacher position at Skeena Middle School, Terrace, BC.

Start Date: September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Teach students at all grade levels.
• Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social, and emotional learning difficulties.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to support enhanced learning goals.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff members.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for).
• Working knowledge of the learning standards, curricular competencies, and core competencies within the revised BC Curriculum.
• Committed to following the goals and strategies outlined in the school and district framework for enhanced learning.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

• Verification of qualifications (BC Teacher Certificate) or eligible to obtain.
• Teacher Qualification Card.

Benefits

• Salary as per collective agreement: $63,513 – $117,454 (based on 1.00 FTE, previous experience, and TQS Category placement).
• $1,000 – $5,000 relocation allowances for teachers from other areas (conditions may apply).
• $3,500 Recruitment and Retention allowance for all teachers (paid over 10 months of the school year, based on FTE).
• Isolation Allowance for remote communities:
  • Hazelton – $1,287
  • Kitwanga – $1,528
  • Stewart – $4,824 (paid over 10 months of the school year).
• Benefits as per the collective agreement with option to enroll in medical, dental, extended health, and group life insurance.
