20988: Full Time - PUFF Educational Assistant

Full-time Jr. High Teacher position at Paddle Prairie School, starting August 31st, 2026. The K–12 school is located in the Paddle Prairie Métis Settlement, one of eight legislated Métis land bases in Northern Alberta, 70 km south of High Level and 1 hour 14 minutes north of Manning.

Responsibilities

• Follow the prescribed program of studies for each subject taught.
• Plan and execute daily lessons based on short, medium, and long-range planning.
• Provide feedback to students and parents in a regular, timely manner.
• Champion Cree language and culture revitalization and curriculum infusion.
• Support school-parent-community engagement.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and commit to collaborative decision-making.
• Promote differentiated instruction to meet diversity in learning needs.

Requirements

• Must hold or qualify for Alberta teaching certification and a Teaching Quality Standard certificate.
• Must hold a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree.
• Successful years of teaching experience in rural and/or Indigenous communities.
• Leadership skills that support literacy and language improvement through an Indigenous perspective.

Upon a successful evaluation, there may be an opportunity to receive a continuous contract.
