About the role
Nomura’s 2027 Global Markets Summer Internship Program in Singapore offers a nine-week internship starting in June 2027. The program is designed to provide first-hand experience and insights into a career in markets, with orientation and induction training in the first week, followed by placement in one of the Global Markets teams.
This internship serves as a key pipeline for Nomura’s Graduate Analyst Program in Asia, beginning in July 2028.
About the team
Nomura’s Global Markets team serves financial institutions, corporates, governments, asset managers, and hedge funds worldwide. Acting as market makers, the team trades equity and fixed income securities, including currencies, interest rates, and credit in cash, derivatives, and structured products. With a global cross-asset platform, Nomura leverages intellectual capital, client relationships, and technology to deliver best-in-class products. The team operates across over 30 countries and regions, offering a truly integrated East-West service.
Responsibilities
During the internship, you may join one of the following teams, each with distinct responsibilities:
- Sales: Develop and maintain relationships with institutional clients such as pension funds, hedge funds, insurance companies, and corporates.
- Trading: Assist the trading desk in buying and selling securities, market making, and capital commitment on behalf of clients or the firm.
- Structuring: Design and develop innovative products and strategies for clients, partnering with trading and sales teams to create risk management and marketing strategies.
- Research: Collect, analyze, and assess industry and company information to provide market insights and investment ideas for institutional investors and internal clients.
- Strategy: Work with senior leadership on management initiatives, including business expansion, market and competitor analysis, business planning, performance reviews, and client strategy to shape Nomura’s Global Markets strategy.
Requirements
- Open to students from all backgrounds and disciplines in their penultimate year of study.
- Must be available for the entire duration of the internship (mid-June to mid-August 2027) and able to commence the Graduate Analyst Program in July 2028.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required; additional Asian language skills are a plus.
