About the role

As an intern with Commodities and Global Markets, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills and build your career as you learn from in-house experts ranging from geologists to meteorologists, petroleum and mining engineers to data scientists, quant strategists to traders and advisors. In this part of our business, you will partner with our clients to provide tailored solutions that maximize opportunities in global markets. Commodities provides capital and financing, risk management, market access and physical execution and logistics services across the power, gas and emissions, agriculture and oil and resources sectors globally. The team also offers commodity-based index products to institutional investors.

What the program offers

  • Complete meaningful and challenging work during a ten-week internship, allowing you to gain practical experience to tie into your theoretical knowledge from school.
  • Take part in an orientation where you’ll learn about Macquarie’s business groups with your fellow Macquarie interns and receive technical training.
  • Receive support and guidance from your manager and aligned mentor.
  • Participate in philanthropic and social events to connect you to our inclusive culture.
  • Present a project you worked on during the program to senior management.

Requirements

  • Students expecting to graduate between December 2027 – June 2028.
  • Critical thinker with strong numerical skills and the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly.
  • Collaborative mindset with comfort in building strong working relationships.
  • Interest in financial services and a proactive, resourceful, and positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong attention to detail with experience and comfort in Excel.
