About the role
Nomura’s 2027 Global Markets Summer Internship Program in Hong Kong offers a nine-week immersive experience starting in June 2027. The program is designed to provide first-hand exposure to a career in markets, serving as a pipeline for the Graduate Analyst Program in Asia.
After a week of orientation and induction training—covering business overviews, products, and networking opportunities—you will join one of the Global Markets teams: Sales, Structuring, Trading, Research, or Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Sales: Develop and maintain relationships with institutional clients such as pension funds, hedge funds, insurance companies, and corporates.
- Trading: Assist the trading desk in buying and selling securities, market making, and capital commitment for clients or the firm.
- Structuring: Design and develop innovative products and strategies for clients, partnering with trading and sales teams to create risk management and marketing strategies.
- Research: Collect, analyze, and assess industry and company data to support research analysts in providing market insights and investment ideas for institutional and internal clients.
- Strategy: Work with senior leadership on management initiatives, including business expansion, market and competitor analysis, business planning, performance reviews, and client strategy to shape Nomura’s Global Markets strategy.
Requirements
- Open to students from all academic backgrounds in their penultimate year of study.
- Must be available for the full duration of the internship (mid-June to mid-August 2027) and able to commence the Graduate Analyst Program in July 2028.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required; additional Asian language skills are a plus.
