2027 Accounting & Finance Development Program Intern (Undergraduate)

About the role

This is a paid, 11-week summer program where you'll gain world-class experience in AbbVie's dynamic organization. Participants work on meaningful assignments that impact the business and patients worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Work on meaningful assignments that have a real impact on AbbVie's business and patients worldwide.
• Gain experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Participate in a variety of functional areas including Commercial, Operations, Research & Development, and Corporate.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 – August 2028.
• Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship with AbbVie.
• Progress towards successfully completing at least three accounting courses (each with 3 credit hours) by the time of graduation, with one of the courses being focused on cost or managerial accounting.
• Demonstrated utilization of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in academic and/or professional settings.
• Demonstrated leadership experience within a school or student organization setting.
• Submit unofficial or official transcript at time of application.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.

Qualifications

• Preferred qualifications include dual major or minor in a related field, exposure in utilizing systems and tools to visualize and present data in a meaningful way, and completion of an accredited Excel or data visualization tool certificate program or course.
• Ability to use analytical skills to innovatively solve problems.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects within a work and/or academic environment, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
• Proven track record of working collaboratively in teams, being adaptable, innovative, proactive, and maintaining high ethical standards.
• Previous internship or related experience.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Pay

The compensation range for this role is $20,000 - $25,000 per year, depending on various factors including geographic location.

Schedule

The internship runs from June to August, with flexible start dates based on business needs and individual preferences.
