Overview

Butler Machinery Co and Butler Ag Equipment are seeking future Ag Equipment Diesel Technicians. Ideal candidates should have a passion for agriculture, strong mechanical skills, and a positive attitude. The ButlerMAX program offers scholarships, paid internships, and a 2-year technical training program at Lake Area Technical College (LATC) in Watertown, SD. Graduates can expect to earn an AAS degree in Diesel Technology and secure full-time technician positions starting at over $32.73/hour.

Responsibilities

Maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0 while in the program
Work the minimum number of internship hours required by the program (1,280)
Be prepared and on time for work and school
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Work independently and as part of a team
Secure housing arrangements at both the school and internship location
Commit to lifelong learning and staying ahead of industry standards
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required: High school juniors or seniors, high school diploma or GED
Age 18 by the first internship
Accepted by Lake Area Technical College by its application deadline

Applied knowledge of basic mechanical theory
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proficient computer technology skills
Strong organizational skills
