Overview

Butler Machinery Co and Butler Ag Equipment are seeking future Ag Equipment Diesel Technicians. Ideal candidates should have a passion for agriculture, strong mechanical skills, and a positive attitude. The ButlerMAX program offers scholarships, paid internships, and a 2-year technical training program at Lake Area Technical College (LATC) in Watertown, SD. Graduates can expect to earn an AAS degree in Diesel Technology and secure full-time technician positions starting at over $32.73/hour.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0 while in the program
  • Work the minimum number of internship hours required by the program (1,280)
  • Be prepared and on time for work and school
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Secure housing arrangements at both the school and internship location
  • Commit to lifelong learning and staying ahead of industry standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Required: High school juniors or seniors, high school diploma or GED
  • Age 18 by the first internship
  • Accepted by Lake Area Technical College by its application deadline
  • Electronic application submission through Butler's website
  • Acceptance into the program
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical theory
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer technology skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Valid work authorization and ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to learn new skills quickly

Schedule
