Essential Functions
- Administers subject specific assessments and tests.
- Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress.
- Advises students for the purpose of improving performance, health status, problem solving techniques and a variety of personal issues.
- Affirms student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals.
- Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, District personnel, parents and a variety of community resources.
- Demonstrates pedagogical approaches that engage learners.
- Differentiates classroom work.
- Directs student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers and/or student workers.
- Instructs students.
- Manages student behavior.
- Maintains students in a variety of educational environments.
- Participates in a variety of meetings.
- Participates on PLC team.
- Prepares a variety of written materials.
- Reports health and safety issues.
- Responds to inquires from a variety of sources.
- Responds to emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods.
- Directing other persons within a small work unit.
- Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions.
Job Requirements
- Skills: Applying assessment instruments; operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; repairing and maintaining accurate records; applying curriculum and instructional techniques.
- Knowledge: Applying algebra and/or geometry; reading technical information, composing a variety of documents, and/or facilitating group discussions; analyzing situations to define issues and drawing conclusions.
- Ability: Establishing and maintaining constructive relationships; adapting to changing work priorities; maintaining confidentiality; exhibiting tact and patience; working flexible hours; meeting deadlines and schedules; working as part of a team; adhering to all school and district policies and procedures.
