Grade 5 Teacher -- Mount Desert

Mount Desert Elementary School is opening a position for a 5th Grade Teacher beginning in August 2026.

About the role

• Teach a full 5th grade curriculum
• Support students' social, emotional, and academic development
• Collaborate with colleagues and parents to enhance student learning

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with state standards
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Participate in professional development opportunities
• Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements

• State of Maine Teaching Certification 020
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• Experience working with elementary school students preferred
