2026-27 Maintenance Technician IV HVAC - Facilities & Construction

About the role

The Facilities & Construction Maintenance Technician IV position is responsible for providing maintenance services, specifically focusing on the installation of new or upgraded systems, and performing a wide range of skilled maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes blueprints, schematics, and drawings to determine efficient installation of new or upgraded systems.
• Estimates labor and materials to obtain materials and assign tasks to ensure job completion.
• Fabricates equipment parts to meet specialty needs and replace unavailable parts.
• Informs personnel about procedures and/or status of work orders to provide information for decision-making, taking appropriate action, and complying with building and safety regulations.
• Installs a variety of materials such as carpet, tile, roofing, cabinetry, drywall, plumbing, insulation, glass, electrical, masonry, etc., to enhance and upgrade facilities.
• Maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
• Oversees other maintenance technicians to ensure project completion within specified timelines.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance to ensure facility systems function properly.
• Performs journey-level functions in various trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and more to complete projects within established timeframes.
• Prepares written materials such as repair status, activity logs, etc., to document activities and convey information.
• Repairs facilities, equipment, and systems to maintain a safe working environment.
• Transports tools, equipment, and supplies to ensure availability at the job site.

Essential Functions

• Attends educational seminars and meetings to maintain and upgrade job knowledge, skills, and resolutions to safety issues.
• Performs a variety of journey-level functions in one or more of the trades (e.g. plumbing, painting, HVAC, carpentry, welding, refrigeration, special systems, carpet installation, sheet metal, etc.) to complete projects within established time frames.
