About the role
The Facilities/HVAC Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a diversified list of duties including installation, repairs, preventive/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and process improvements on all equipment and systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on all equipment and systems
- Diagnose and resolve malfunctions and issues with equipment and systems
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
- Drive forklifts or learn to drive forklifts within a specified timeframe
- Handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Communicate effectively with all levels of associates
- Work independently without constant supervision
- Visually inspect equipment periodically to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustments, or lubrication
- Use power tools, measuring devices, and other hand tools
- Work effectively with other members of the facility team
- Solve complex manufacturing problems
Requirements
- Demonstrated high energy level, strong work ethic, and positive approach to problem-solving
- Excellent attendance and disciplinary records
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of preventive maintenance and repair procedures
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HVAC systems and concepts including chillers, heat pumps, window units, and control cabinet units
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic processes and principles
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of plumbing
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of generators, air compressors, and dryers
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of electrical repairs including the use of electrical test equipment
- The ability to drive a forklift or the ability to learn to drive a forklift in a specified length of time
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- The ability to read, comprehend, and react to complex data
- The ability to use power tools, measuring devices, and other hand tools
- The ability to work effectively with others in identifying and solving complex manufacturing problems
- The ability to work independently without constant supervision
- The ability to visually inspect equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustments, or lubrication
