Athletic coaching position at Hiroshi Miyamura High School for the fall sport season.
Responsibilities
- Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to achieve individual and team success.
- Demonstrate and promote behaviors that contribute to socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in student athletes.
- Organize and supervise the total volleyball program.
- Examine and implement new theories and procedures pertinent to coaching volleyball.
- Serve as a role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.
- Advise, coordinate, and support a staff of high school assistant coaches and middle school coaches in conjunction with the athletic director and respective principal.
- Work with students interested in volleyball, providing necessary practice support and advice for team success during the sports season.
- Teach and enforce rules and regulations of the sport.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalency.
- Must hold or have the ability to obtain an Athletic Coaching License (7-12) from the New Mexico Public Education Department (details).
- Must complete the Fundamentals of Coaching online exam offered through the New Mexico Activities Association (www.nmact.org).
- Previous successful coaching experience in volleyball (or other major sports).
- Substantial knowledge of volleyball's technical aspects.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Pay
$10,000.00 for the fall sport season.
Work Environment
- On-site attendance is mandatory.
- Reports to the athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principals.
