2026 - 2027 School Year - Special Education CDC Teacher

About the role

Coopertown Middle School is seeking a Special Education CDC (Cognitively Delayed Child) Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have a certified background in Special Education and be prepared to support students with cognitive delays.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with cognitive delays.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students in a classroom setting.
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive student support.
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• Current teaching certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with students who have cognitive delays.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Master's degree in Special Education preferred.
• Valid teaching license in Tennessee.

Pay
