2026 - 2027 School Year - English Teacher

About the role

The English teacher at Springfield High School will be responsible for teaching English to students in grades 7-12. This position is open for certified teachers who hold endorsements in English 7-12 and/or English 6-12.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards
• Assess student learning through various methods including quizzes, tests, and projects
• Engage students in critical thinking and analytical writing skills
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum and instruction
• Maintain accurate records and report on student progress

Requirements

• Master's degree in English or related field
• At least three years of teaching experience at the high school level
• Valid teaching license in Tennessee
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Experience with differentiated instruction
• Knowledge of current educational technology tools
• Ability to work collaboratively with other educators

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage classroom effectively
