About the role

Innovation Academy is seeking an experienced English teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching high school students and committed to fostering a dynamic learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach English Language Arts courses to students in grades 9-12
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards
• Assess student progress through various methods including quizzes, tests, and projects
• Mentor and support students in their academic and personal growth
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional strategies and resources
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices

Requirements

• Current certification in High School English 7-12
• Experience teaching English at the high school level
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English or related field
• Master's degree preferred
• At least three years of teaching experience

Skills

• Effective classroom management skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning

Pay

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The school year runs from August to June, with a typical schedule of 180 days per year. Teachers are expected to work a minimum of 180 days per year, with additional time for planning, grading, and meetings.
