About the role

Elementary School Teacher responsible for delivering instruction in accordance with the Clark County School District curriculum and Nevada Academic Content Standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Prepare classroom for class activities and maintain a safe, orderly environment.
• Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
• Provide appropriate feedback on student work and progress.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
• Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings.
• Stay current with developments in subject area, teaching resources, and methods; participate in professional development opportunities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal or other administrators.

Requirements

• Valid Nevada teaching license with an elementary endorsement or the ability to obtain one.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated knowledge of elementary education curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
