2026-2027 KINDERGARTEN TEACHER - CARTWRIGHT ES

Location: Roberta C. Cartwright Elementary School, Las Vegas

About the role

This is a full-time elementary school teaching position for the 2026–2027 school year, classified as a Tier I ES Teacher under the negotiated salary schedule.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with Nevada Academic Content Standards.
• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and social-emotional growth.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including students with IEPs and English-language learners.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and families to support student achievement.
• Participate in professional-learning communities, staff meetings, and district-mandated training.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and materials in accordance with school and district policies.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
• Complete required documentation, including lesson plans, progress reports, and student assessments.

Requirements

• Valid Nevada Department of Education license with an elementary (K–8) endorsement.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated knowledge of elementary pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment practices.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check and meet all district hiring requirements.

Pay

Starting salary for a Tier I ES Teacher (2026–2027 school year) is $48,995, with annual step increases based on years of service and additional stipends for advanced degrees or certifications.

Schedule

• 185-day contract year (August–June).
• Teacher workday: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
• Additional paid duty days for professional development, planning, and parent conferences.
