Location: North Las Vegas – Cram, Brian Teri Middle School

About the Role

This position is for a Special Education Generalist in a self-contained K-12 setting, primarily serving middle school students.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom environment.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, staff, and administrators.
• Adapt and modify curriculum to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to ensure student success.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and IEP goals.
• Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior intervention strategies.

Requirements

• Valid Nevada Department of Education license with appropriate special education endorsement (or ability to obtain one).
• Experience working with students with disabilities in a self-contained or resource setting.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs effectively.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in differentiated instruction and behavior management.
• Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive materials.
