About the role

A self-contained special education teacher will provide instruction to students with disabilities in a general education setting. The role requires a strong commitment to inclusive practices and collaboration with other educators.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective lessons aligned with state standards
• Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop comprehensive educational programs
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Participate in IEP meetings to develop and monitor individualized education plans
• Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid teaching license in the state of Nevada
• At least two years of relevant teaching experience
• Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, or emotional disturbances

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Ability to manage diverse classroom environments and adapt instruction to meet the needs of all learners
• Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions

• Proficiency in using technology tools for lesson planning and assessment
