2026-2027 GAME DAY INTERNSHIP

Join the Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s San Jose Sharks, as an intern for the 2025–26 hockey season. This unpaid opportunity offers hands-on experience in professional sports, with the option to receive college credit. Some roles may require additional office hours.

Available Positions

• Game Operations
  • Rotate between Fan Relations, downstairs Game Ops, Promotions, and Chuck-A-Puck.
  • Assist in managing the Fan Relations Booth on game nights, including answering fan inquiries and wayfinding.
  • Support on-ice activations such as anthems and intermissions.
  • Promotions: Deliver prizes, assist with setup/teardown, coordinate with promo and game ops teams, and help with intermission contests.
  • Chuck-A-Puck: Sell CAPs on the concourse during pre-game and through the beginning of second intermission; assist in clearing the ice post-game.
• Videographer
  • Capture and edit video for social media and other content.
  • Work with the marketing team.
  • Own equipment required.
• Photography
  • Capture, label, organize, and manage content.
  • Prior knowledge of Adobe programs is a bonus.
  • Work with the marketing team.
  • Own equipment required.
• Social Media/Marketing
  • Gather and plan content for social media, including sponsor and in-arena content.
  • Help grow the team’s digital presence.
  • Work with the Social Media Manager.
  • Requires use of own iPhone.
  • Will require additional office hours.
• Merchandise
  • Operate point of sale (Shopify/Lightspeed), handle cash drawers, stock merchandise, and assist customers.
  • May require additional office hours.
