2026-2027 EL Tutor (Open Pool)

Reports to: Building principal or supervising administrator

Job Goal

Provide academic support for specific English Learner (EL) students.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual and small-group academic support
• Monitors student progress
• Collaborates with school personnel
• Maintains required documentation
• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance
• Supports the Hattiesburg Public School District Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan
• Performs other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Passing scores on the "WorkKeys" Test or completion of 48 college credits
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Other requirements as outlined by the Board and the Administration

Term of employment: Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Trustees

Evaluation: Annually
