Position: Autism teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year.

About the role

Teach students with autism spectrum disorder in a self-contained classroom setting. Implement evidence-based interventions to support student learning and development. Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and school staff to provide a comprehensive educational program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on students' needs and goals.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Assess students' progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver effective lessons.
  • Support students' social and emotional development through group activities and one-on-one interactions.
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records as required by law.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid Arizona teaching certificate in Special Education.
  • At least two years of successful teaching experience in a special education setting.
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and effective strategies for supporting students with these conditions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of professionals and students.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Passion for working with students with autism and a commitment to their success.

Skills

  • Proficiency in using assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
  • Experience with data collection and analysis tools.
