About the role
Responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with autism spectrum disorder in primary grades K-2.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and related service providers to support student learning.
- Implement evidence-based practices and strategies to address the diverse learning needs of students with autism.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction as needed to meet academic goals.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Valid teaching license/credential in special education.
- Bachelor's degree in special education or related field.
- Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and effective teaching strategies for this population.
- Experience with data collection and analysis to inform instructional decisions.
- Proficiency in using technology tools to support student learning.
